Janine Mukuddem-Petersen is currently a full professor at North-West University, South Africa. She grew up in Matroosfontein, Cape Town, and received a BSc(Hons) from the University of the Western Cape in 1996. In subsequent years, she pursued full-time studies, earning her PhD from the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University (NWU-PC) in 2005. She spent the next five years completing postdoctoral tenures at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam and NWU-PC. She joined the North-West University in 2010 and in 2012 her research achievements were rewarded with a full professorship.
