Jeffrey A. Edwards
Jeffrey Edwards is Chairman of the Department of Economics and Finance at North Carolina A&T State University and was a professor at Texas Tech University before this position. He attained his BA in Economics and Phi Beta Kappa distinction from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed his PhD at Virginia Tech. His expertise lies in Econometrics, Global Growth and Development, and Water Resource Development. Jeffrey has over 25 publications that span all three areas and has attained about $1 million in federal grant money. His projects have been highlighted by the USDA Project of Excellence committee, and many news organizations particularly in the High Plains area of the U.S.
Professionally, Dr. Edwards has sat on the Board of Directors of the Missouri Valley Economic Association, is an Assistant Editor for the Journal of Economics, and sits on the Advisory Board of a European economics publication, Applied Econometrics and International Development. He has reviewed for many journals including the Journal of Economic Growth, The Berkeley Journals of Macroeconomics, Journal of Environmental Management, Economic Modelling, just to name a few, as well as Elements of Forecasting, 4th Edition, by Francis Diebold and Cengage Publishing. He has had associations and consultative interactions with many university research and economic development programs, as well as SACS and AACSB International managerial processes committees.
Prior to his academic career, and before the age of 24, Edwards was the proprietor of two companies in the construction field, and was a residential construction superintendent of two others. While operating a drywall installation company and a deck construction company simultaneously, he was building an upscale townhouse subdivision in the Chesapeake, Virginia area, and several semi-custom home subdivisions more broadly across the Tidewater, Virginia area.
