Catherine W. Scherer
A senior professional with over 30 years experience, Ms. Scherer has combined expertise in international management consulting, corporate restructuring, marketing and business development. She is the author of The Internationalists, a book for for which she conducted research on four continents. She is also the author of a series of books for young people, intended to educate future internationalists. To her credit are also numerous articles and training programs.
Previously, she served as Vice President and as Director of Professional Services for an international career development firm. In that capacity, she worked closely with a wide variety of industries including telecommunications, petroleum, mining, aerospace, utilities, manufacturing, health care, consumer products and high-tech. She has managed complex restructuring projects providing direction, coordination, program design and delivery for Fortune 500 companies as well as smaller organizations.
As a consultant, she has worked with companies and associations for organizational solutions and counseled with executives and managers on professional issues. She has presented and facilitated cross-cultural programs and worked with developing organizations in countries of the former Soviet Union. As a keynote speaker and trainer, she has addressed business audiences in Malaysia, Argentina, China, Ukraine, Russia, Hungary and Germany as well as many North American locations.
An avid interculturalist, her background includes a ten-year stint in Europe where she coordinated multiple-site educational programs for an American college.
She holds a B.A., Education/Social Sciences with additional studies in business and international affairs. She has completed graduate studies in psychology and continues to study through professional seminars and workshops.
Her passion is creating global citizens. Toward that end, she devotes many volunteer hours on boards of directors, in elementary and high schools, serving several non-profit organizations and participating in various scholarship and exchange programs.
