William (Bill) Scheela, PhD is professor emeritus of business at Bemidji State University, which is part of the Minnesota State University System. For the past 25 years, Scheela has been analyzing the development of both VC and BA financing and in the emerging economies of Southeast Asia. Professor Scheela has a doctorate in business administration from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Scheela has authored or coauthored 35 papers that have appeared in academic journals, research books, conference proceedings, government studies and roundtable policy discussions. His research is published in Venture Capital: An International Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance, Journal of Private Equity, Journal of Asian Business and Thunderbird Journal of International Business. Scheela was a visiting lecturer at Chinese University of Hong Kong, visiting professor at both National Economics University of Vietnam in Hanoi and the Asian Institute of Management in Manila, Philippines.
