David Dilts

Dr. David Dilts is Director of Strategy Alignment for the Knight Cancer Institute and Professor of Management and co-director of the Center for Management Research in Healthcare (cMRHc.org) at the Oregon Health & Science University. Prior to taking this position, Dilts was Professor of Operations Management at the Owen Graduate School and was Professor of Engineering Management in the Vanderbilt School of Engineering. He has studied and consulted in multiple industries (including oncology, optometry, automotive, heavy industry, floristry), including a diverse set of products (from the Trident II D-5 Fleet Ballistic Missile to single-use cameras) and the impact of unique services (impact of quality certification on firm stock prices to success factors for business incubation). In his current position, Dilts is responsible for aligning all the diverse pieces of a major cancer institute for strategic and research excellence. His work has been published in nearly 200 articles, editorials, conference papers and presentations, book chapters, and books and monographs. Dilts’ research has been supported at nearly $20 million for the past decade. His work has appeared in Nature Medicine, Science Translational Medicine, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Health Economics.
