Lawrence A. Beer
Lawrence A. Beer (JD) St. Johns University joined the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in 2002 as a faculty associate, attained Lecturer in 2003 and then Senior Lecturer in 2004. Such positions followed his tenure at Western International University, Paradise Valley Community College and Long Island University. Prior to and in conjunction with his academic responsibilities he was managing director of an international consulting firm building on his corporate experiences as President of the International Division and House Counsel to Del Laboratories, Inc. as well as Vice President Western Hemisphere and Director of Export Operations for Brystol Myers Squibb Corporation and Price Waterhouse & Co. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in management from Boston University.
In the management department of W. P. Carey Larry, as honors disciplinary faculty, Larry instructed at both the undergraduate and MBA level with a concentration on international management courses ranging from introductory classes to cultural factors and strategy in the global arena. He acted as a thesis director for the Honor College, coordinator of the international business curriculum and the certificate in international business, chief judge in business ethics case competition, and panel leader for the university wide international education week. As a recipient of the Apple Polisher award for teaching excellence and Alpha Kappa Psi as outstanding Professor/Mentor, he also was nominated two times for the Final Lecture Series and Faculty Advisor to AIESEC, global student organization.
